Zeal to write!
I have been writing since I learnt how to put words together. I slowly started understanding I could tell stories, make poetry and also rant with the words put together and that caught my fancy, like nothing other. Hence, my master's degree in Mass Communication, hence my job as a Technical writer.
Around 7 years ago, when I was in my plus two, I went through a really low phase in my life. A phase of life, where I was depressed. A phase where despair was my only friend. The fact that I fought the situation without any medication and with sheer will power is a miracle even for my doctor. The truth is, my scribblings on huge bundles of paper in the form of poems and stories, were what helped me come out of the situation, never to look back.
It was then I rediscovered the zeal to write, the zeal I had in me to communicate my thoughts through words. The fact that I could choose writing as a profession was what motivated me to study and score decent amount of marks in my boards.
But once I felt better, writing poems and stories became memories of a dark past, a past I never want to visit. I had forgotten what it felt to put my pen onto paper, after that.
Recently, like I have mentioned here, thanks to my job, I was very idle for a very long time and was close to becoming devilish in the way I behaved with the people I loved the most. That's when I discovered blogging and decided to give myself another chance at writing.
I did start writing my blog, sometime towards the end of last year, but was not consistent at all. I was thinking of ways to keep my blog alive just for the sake of writing and rediscovering myself. That's when I came across the A-Z challenge.
I never thought I would complete it, honestly. I usually get bored easily, but I was surprised at how I was thinking of a new word for the letter of the day and what I would write about it. The whole process of thinking, planning and totally writing something different in the last hour of the day was exhilarating and a lot of fun.
Through this challenge I realised, writing was my only source of strength during my bad phase and by giving it up I was letting my bad phase linger on to me. Thanks to writing again, I have found a whole new sense of confidence within me.
I am also happy because of the challenge, I got to read some of the best posts and writers across the world. Their writings have encouraged and inspired me to write further.
This challenge has reignited the zeal to write, in me. I am already wondering what to write about tomorrow. Thank you A-Z challenge.
I am survivor and I take a bow. :)
